About the service

What is server management and hosting?

It is setting up and looking after the environment your website or system runs on: the server, the services the application needs, encrypted connections, backups and updates.

Not every project needs a dedicated server. We start by understanding your application and the resources it needs, so you get suitable hosting without unnecessary cost.

What does Future Web offer you?

  • Reviewing your project’s requirements and the current or proposed hosting resources.
  • Setting up the server and the services needed to run your website or system.
  • Configuring encrypted connections (SSL) and managing access permissions.
  • Monitoring resource usage and operational notes within the service scope.
  • A plan for updates, backups and the agreed restore tests.
  • Migrating websites or resolving operational issues after assessment.

Who is it for

Is this service right for you?

  • A site that needs better hosting

Your site is slow or goes down at times, or you pay for resources it does not need.

  • A new system or app

You need a prepared environment for your system or app before launch.

  • A company moving its sites

You want to move one or more sites to new hosting with a clear plan and no confusion.

  • A team without a technical lead

Nobody on your side looks after the server, updates and backups.

What is included

  1. Hosting sized to your needs

We choose resources based on your application and its usage, with no excess it does not need and no shortfall that holds it back.

  2. Environment setup

We prepare the server and the services your site or system needs to run properly.

  3. Encryption and access

We configure encrypted connections and define who can reach the server, and with which permissions.

We follow resource usage and operational notes within the agreed service scope.

  5. Backups and restore

A backup, retention and restore-testing plan agreed with you in advance.

  6. Migration and troubleshooting

We help you move sites and resolve operational issues once they are assessed.

How we work

How do we work on your project?

  1. We review your project

We look at your application, its data volume and usage, and your current hosting if there is one.

  2. We propose the setup

We suggest the hosting type and resources, and explain the costs paid to the provider.

  3. We agree on responsibilities

We set what the provider handles, what we handle and what belongs to your team, plus the monitoring and response times.

  4. We prepare the environment

We configure the server, services, encrypted connections and access permissions.

  5. We migrate and test

We move your site or system when needed, and test operation, backups and restore.

  6. We monitor and document

We follow resources and updates within the scope, and hand you the settings documentation.

Challenges

Problems we help you solve

  • Your site is slow or goes down now and then

So we review the resources and settings first, then fix the cause or suggest more suitable hosting.

  • You do not know if your backups actually work

So we set a clear backup plan and test restoring, rather than relying on copies simply existing.

  • You pay for resources you do not need

So we measure what your application really needs and choose hosting to match.

  • Nobody knows who is responsible when something breaks

So we write a responsibilities table that sets out the provider’s role, ours and your team’s.

  • Moving your site feels risky

So we plan and test the move before pointing your domain to the new hosting.

Questions

Questions clients ask about this service

Does the service prevent outages completely?

No. Outages cannot be ruled out, but the plan reduces risk, improves monitoring and sets out recovery steps.

Does management include fixing the website’s code?

Not usually. Server maintenance is separate from website code development, unless the quote combines them.

Do I need a dedicated server?

Not always. We review your application, the number of sites and the resources needed, and suggest what is enough without unnecessary cost.

Are hosting fees part of your work?

No. Server and subscription fees are paid to the hosting provider, separately from the setup and management work we do.

Can you move my site from its current host?

Usually, yes. We assess the current hosting and how to access it first, and test the site on the new server before pointing the domain to it.

What do we agree on before management starts?

Each party’s responsibilities, monitoring and response times, backup retention and resource costs, so there are no surprises.
